To support that challenge, we are currently seeking a Global Demand Planning Lead – Vegetable Seeds in Downers Grove, IL. This position will lead the demand planning process of new and existing products across regions and species, and lead associated change management initiatives
- Lead collaborative demand planning process for vegetable seeds across regions between Commercial, Marketing, Supply Operations and Finance to drive alignment around business priorities and enable effective decision-making
- To report and monitor defined demand planning KPIs and metrics, and proactively recommend and drive improvement initiatives
- Facilitate and coordinate the biannual Crop release meetings
- Actively communicate to and support the Global Crop Unit Heads in optimizing sales and gross profit as well as managing optimal inventory levels
- Lead Demand planning related projects
- Mentor and supports the regional demand planning teams, driving best practice across the geographies as needed
Accountabilities
- Facilitate and coordinate across the regions the bottom up forecast activity 2x a year in IBP and facilitate and coordinate across the regions the quarterly top down forecast reviews in IBP
- Coordinate and enhance the Exception management process to reflect the Risk and Opportunities captured during MBR for P&S
- Simplify ways of workings by establishing application synergies where possible
- Ensure that the critical demand planning processes and tools are designed and function as efficiently as possible and implemented globally
- Establish and lead the global S&OP process
- Proactively review opportunities for improvement by challenging ways of working and business processes, identify non-value adding activities or process steps
- Lead SKU optimalization
- Serve as technical expert in matters concerning forecasting tool, process and system integration with P&S, Finance etc.
- Facilitate system changes to enable variety level forecast and ensure the proper disaggregation to SKUs
- To lead the SKU management process and tools
- Coaching the regional team about implementation best practices
- Review and maintain documentation of the actual planning principals
- Establish forecast accuracy and demand uncertainty KPIs
- Collate and analyse demand change drivers and assumptions for review and discussion in the global crop release meetings
- Provide insights about the forecast changes based on available reports to support the Global Crop Unit Heads for the Crop release meetings and other ad-hoc requests
- Establish pricing tool and standardize the pricing process across regions in alignment with the forecast process
- Ensuring pricing integrity
Qualifications
Requirements
- 5+ years’ experience in a Demand Planning or Demand Management, Commercial Operations, Marketing or Supply Chain roles
- Lead change and manage ambiguity
- Understand global strategy and implement it considering the region specificities
- Ability to communicate effectively and create relationships across functions and regions
- Excelling in Microsoft excel
- Operate statistical analysis tools, ERP systems and planning systems
- Ability to lead cross functional teams by influence
- Strong time management and organizational skills
- Advanced analytical skills
- Develop people, organization, and self
- Fluent verbal and written English
- Communication and presentation skills
- Must be authorized to work for Syngenta in the United States without work authorization sponsorship
