Description & Requirements
Job Responsibilities: The Kraft Heinz Global Agriculture team is looking for a summer intern to assist in the Product Development work done by it’s HeinzSeed business unit. This position will be responsible for a wide range of technical- manual- and administrative work. Candidates must be adaptable- willing to put in “sweat equity” and have an interest in the seed industry and how it forms the basis for the food and fiber supply-chain.
The successful candidate’s responsibilities will include- but not be limited to:
- Assisting in the maintenance and evaluation of varietal trials throughout the state of California.
- Harvest- sampling- and delivery of tomatoes to laboratory locations.
- Participation in marketing efforts – customer events- media asset development (video- photography- social media and blog content)- white space activations- etc.
- Management of field sensor technology and associated data.
Skills/Qualifications:
- Actively enrolled in a college agricultural degree program
- Ability to work outdoor- under diverse environmental conditions
- Ability to lift 50 lbs.
- Ability to be insured and drive a company vehicle
- Desire to understand and participate in the varietal development process
- Good English speaking and writing capabilities- Spanish speaking-ability preferred
- Competencies include strong written and oral communication skills- problem solving- and innovation.
- Technical proficiencies in Microsoft Office
- Demonstrates ownership of projects and supports culture of meritocracy
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and priorities without supervision- meet established deadlines and excel in a team environment.
- Superior analytical and problem-solving skills
- Must be able to deal with difficult situations tactfully and resolve conflicts effectively.
- Good English speaking and writing capabilities- Spanish speaking ability preferred.
- Analysis: correlation- root cause and effect.
- Organization: set and comply with milestones and deadlines
- Communication: clear- concise and organized writing and speaking skills
- Able to work independently- acting with sense of urgency and as an owner
