Job description
POSITION SUMMARY
The Breeding Intern will assist with all breeding activities of Fresh Market and Saladette Tomatoes for the summer.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND REPONSIBILITIES
This internship will assist with all breeding activities of the Fresh Market Tomato Breeding Program, with focus on:
- • Data entry and report of field trials
- • Organize the logistics of California hybrid trials' evaluation
- • Responsible for specific projects in the field
- • Seed harvest and processing for international shipments
- • Greenhouse activities and information management
Profile
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
- • Enrolled in College or BS completed. Preferred fields: Horticulture, Agronomy, Crop Sciences, Plant Sciences, Biology.
- • Ability to work in group and independently.
- • Attention to detail
- • Pro-active, engaged and creative
- • Committed to work and punctuality
- • Excellent communication skills: clarity, concision and ability to quickly learn new processes.
- • Valid CA driver's license
