Main Goal

• Assistant product development program in field trial design, planting, trial evaluation, sampling and efficient and timely delivery of samples to our lab as scheduled.

Job description

• Develop programs in field trial design, planting, trial evaluation, sampling and efficient and timely delivery of samples to our lab as scheduled.
• Support data collection, data entry and harvest operations of trials.
• Maintain and update a database of trial maturity
• Assist the greenhouse crew in seeding and transplanting
• Assist in monitoring maturity of trials
• Assist the labor crews in sampling of trials
• Work closely with breeder assistant in monitoring maturity of breeder trials that are combined or in the same location as product development trials as needed.
• Work closely with breeder assistant and labor crews in sampling of breeder trials as needed.
• Assist in the execution of sample delivery to our lab and work closely with our research station staff and lab staff on scheduled deliveries of both product development trials and breeder trials as needed

Education and Experience 

• 2 year degree in agricultural related field
• BA/BS degree in a related field, or equivalent experience advantageous
• 1-3 years' experience in agriculture desirable
• Some field and/or greenhouse experience desirable
• Fluent in Spanish desirable
