Born in Mexico to a leading, third generation family of seedsmen, Roberto Berentsen earned a Bachelor's of Science degree from California Polytechnic State University and a Master's degree in Agriculture from Texas A&M University.

After graduation, he worked at the Technology Licensing Office of Texas A&M University. He then joined the family company in 1994, where he worked as Purchasing Manager and Sales Manager before taking over as General Manager.

Roberto Berentsen is a Board Member and International Representative of the Asociacion Mexicana de Semilleros (AMSAC) and a Board Member and Executive Vice President for Mexico of the American Seed Trade Association (ASTA).
