Corporation (OTC Bulletin Board: DTCT) today stated that as the result of a recent action taken by the U.S.
Department of Agriculture (USDA) which eliminated the local restrictions previously imposed upon a major sector
of the organic marketplace. Diatect is expected to exceed current revenues by $13 million from the sales of Diatect
V in the year 2001. While Diatect V is registered and available in 17 states, the new standards enable Diatect to
market its Diatect V insecticide nationwide without limitations. Based upon past performance, Diatect will
effectively control a wide range of insects prevalent in the organic food production. Organic product sales have
grown at least 20 percent each year since 1990, resulting in an estimated $7.76 billion in retail sales during 2000.
The Organic Trade Association (OTA) reported that the "National Organic Standards, which were finalized by the
USDA in Dec. 2000, will strengthen consumer confidence in the U.S. Organic products, both domestically and
internationally." OTA's Executive Director, Katherine DiMatteo called USDA's regulations implementing the Organic
Foods Production Act of 1990 "a significant milestone for the U.S. organic industry," and further stated: "Not only
will U.S. consumers benefit, but U.S. trading partners will have the reassurance that products certified as organic
have met strict criteria and certification agents have been approved by USDA. Organic agriculture is here to stay,
and will continue to contribute to the growth of family farms, to the U.S. economy, and to a safer environment
worldwide."
