Cal/West Seeds expands international sales and marketing activities

Woodland, California

Expanded international marketing activities lead the list of additional responsibilities for Mr. Bill Bunn, Assistant Vice-President International for Cal/West Seeds. Mr. Bunn now assumes responsibility for all sales and marketing activities in South and Central America, Mexico, Australia, and New Zealand. In addition, he will be licensing Cal/West proprietary products to seed companies in Arizona and California.

Mr. Bunn is a twenty-three year veteran with Cal/West Seeds and during that time has served as a Production Agronomist, Operations Manager, and Production Manager. All these positions have resulted in an extensive product knowledge for all the crops that Cal/West Seeds handles. "With this extensive knowledge, Bill is a natural choice as far as Cal/West Seeds is concerned," says Mr. Paul Frey, President of the company. He continues, "Bill’s extensive background in seed production and operations will serve us well as we develop and implement plans to produce additional seed in foreign countries to ensure our continued competitiveness in the global marketplace."

Mr. Bunn has a Bachelor of Science degree in Agronomy from California State University, Chico. He will continue to reside in the Woodland area along with his wife and two children.


Cal/West Seeds names new international marketing specialist

Mr. Greg Hallquist has been named International Marketing Specialist for Cal/West Seeds. Joining the Woodland staff in October, 2001, he is responsible for sales and marketing activities in Europe, Asia, Africa and the Middle East.

Greg brings an extensive and varied background in international agriculture and business to his new position. With over a decade of global sales and marketing experience in the seed industry – most notably in the Asia-Pacific region – he has also worked with customers in Europe, the Middle East, and throughout Africa.

Prior to his sales career, he worked in the Ferry-Morse field department contracting seed crops with growers in California. Earlier in his career, he worked in East Africa as an agricultural extension officer before working on a forage seed project with the FAO in Kitale, Kenya. Mr. Paul Frey, President of Cal/West Seeds states, "We’re excited about Greg’s addition to our staff. We believe that with his background he will help us to continue providing a high level of customer service as our business continues to grow in international markets around the world."

Mr. Hallquist has a Master of Science degree in Agriculture from Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo in California. He will be relocating to the Sacramento / Woodland, California area along with his wife and two sons in the near future.
