Forage Genetics names Iowa research station Manager

Forage Genetics has named Dr. Jessica Brummer as manager of its new research station now under construction in Ames, Iowa. Dr. Brummer will focus her efforts in Forage Genetics' dormant
breeding program in the development of alfalfa varieties for the western Corn Belt and central and south-central Plains region. She will also assist in research and development of Forage Genetics' leading-edge biotech programs that add value to alfalfa.

Dr. Brummer brings 11 years of alfalfa and red clover breeding, genomics, pathology and forage management experience to her Forage Genetics post. She most recently was a forage breeder
and plant pathologist with ABI Alfalfa. She received doctorate and master's degrees from the University of Wisconsin and a bachelor's degree from the University of Minnesota. Her post-doctorate study centered on Aphanomyces root rot in alfalfa.

Dr. Brummer and her husband, Iowa State University assistant professor and forage breeder E. Charles Brummer, reside on a farm near Boone, Iowa.
