May 13, 1999Monsanto Canada Inc. is
pleased to launch into the 9th year of its Agribusiness Scholarship Program totalling
$50,000 in Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, Ontario and Quebec.
In each province, ten $1,000 scholarships will be awarded to high school students, from a
family farm, who are pursuing post-secondary education in the areas of agriculture,
business or biotechnology. Students must have demonstrated academic excellence, leadership
capabilities and a keen interest in their local communities to qualify for the
scholarship. The deadline for submitting applications is August 16, 1999 (postmarked).
"We are excited to offer the Agri-Business Scholarships again in 1999. This will be
the ninth year of the program. We are committed to helping our customers' children pursue
their educational goals in agriculture and understand that financial constraints often
make this difficult." said

tomorrow's innovators."
