National Seed names Dan Biddick as Sales Representative
Post Falls, Idaho
March 1999

National Seed Company, a division of Jacklin Seed, has appointed Dan Biddick as its sales representative for Wisconsin and Minnesota. He has extensive experience in the seed industry, having worked for Trelay, Inc. in Wisconsin for more than 20 years.

Biddick will focus on working with selected sod farms in Minnesota, as well as with a variety of seed markets in Wisconsin. He will be able to supply seed customers in these areas from three different sources: National's main warehouse in Downer's Grove, Ill., additional storage in Cambridge, Wis., as well as from Jacklin Seed, Post Falls, Idaho. Biddick will have access to half a million pounds of seed from the Downer's Grove location.

Tom Breier, president of National Seed, says, "Dan's knowledge of seed requirements for sod production, commercial landscaping and residential lawn improvement will strengthen our ability to serve seed customers in Wisconsin and Minnesota."

National Seed markets the Green Medal brand of grass seeds to mass merchandisers across the Midwest: Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Wisconsin and Iowa. The company's Vaughan's brand of premium boxed grass seed is sold through garden centers and its National brand and Field of Dreams brands are sold to landscape Drofessionals within a 125-mile radius of Chicago.

In 1997, National Seed became a wholly-owned division of Jacklin Seed, one of the world's largest breeders, producers and marketers of turf, forage and low-maintenance grass. Additionally, Jacklin Seed has one of the longest running commercial research and development program in the turf seed industry.

Jacklin seed varieties are available through an extensive global network of wholesale distributors. Jacklin Seed is part of Simplot Turf & Horticulture.
