El Centro, California
July 30, 2001

Golden Valley Seed, El Centro, CA has announced today that Robert J. Brown (Bob), former President of Samen Mauser America, has joined their staff, effective August 1, 2001. "I am extremely pleased that Bob has chosen to become a part of our company," said Golden Valley Seed President, Nassif Burkhuch. "The depth of his background and experience will help us to better serve our existing client base, enable us to target new markets, and enhance our overall product development and marketing effort."

Brown, who will become the company’s marketing director, brings over 20 years of seed industry experience to Golden Valley Seed. He first entered the seed industry with the original Dessert Seed Company and its successor ARCO Seed. Later he joined the sales staff of Neuman Seed Company, a staff that included Burkhuch. "We know how to work with each other pretty well and our areas of expertise are complementary." commented Brown. In fact this is a bit of a homecoming for Brown. Golden Valley Seed began its life by purchasing the assets of the old Neuman Seed organization and hiring all of its remaining personnel. "Yes," said Brown, " I know practically everyone there. It’s a great group of people who have worked together for a long time and I’m looking forward to being back with them."
