Waterloo, Nebraska
January 27, 1999Golden Harvest announces that
The J.C. Robinson Seed Co. has named Ron Wulfkuhle as director of sales and marketing for
the western Corn Belt.
Wulfkuhle's new position is part of a strategic plan to reinforce the organization's
marketing skills, says senior vice president Doug Robinson.
"Ron's addition to our company allows us to step up our marketing efforts,"
Robinson says. "We are entering a time when we will market much more actively, and
Ron has proven himself as a marketer. He has forged a very successful career with one of
our competitors, previously responsible for seed treatment marketing worldwide, and has
strong acumen in both the seed
and the agricultural chemical industries."
Golden Harvest is not new to Wulfkuhle, who is a native of Lecompton, Kan. His father and
brother are Golden Harvest dealers, which factored into his decision to join Golden
Harvest.
"I have a long-time respect for Golden Harvest," Wulfkuhle says. "I grew up
on a family farm in northeast Kansas, and I well remember when we signed up to be Golden
Harvest dealers over
25 years ago my brother and father still are today. As a competitor of Golden
Harvest in my previous job, I gained a whole new appreciation for the brand. I admired the
strong commitment demonstrated to meet its customers' needs, whether those needs were
agronomic, product related or customer-service oriented. I now have the opportunity to do
what I love to do sell seed, and do it for the people and the company I admire most
in the industry.
"I also see the opportunity to be part of the fastest growing seed brand in the
country. I have confidence that Golden Harvest's grass roots approach to the seed industry
will have sustained
growth. Working for a family-owned business will be a refreshing change to the large
conglomerates that dominate the Ag Chem industry."
Wulfkuhle says Golden Harvest is focused on the most important factors in the industry
genetic development, agronomic information and customer service. Yet it is in a
unique position to take advantage of the multiple new technologies in the market, and
positioned to create new innovative approaches to meet the needs of the seed industry. He
says "the clear winners of the
future will be those organizations with excellent genetics and the strength to add value
to multiple strategic relationships, resulting in ample access to technologies at a fair
price to customers."
The Golden Harvest brand of hybrid corn, soybeans, sorghum and alfalfa is produced and
marketed by five family-owned and managed seed companies serving farmers throughout the
U.S.
Corn Belt, Europe, South America and Canada. These five companies share research and
marketing resources nationally, while continuing to offer the nearby service that is the
heart of the
seed industry.
