Delavan, Wisconsin
October 28, 1999American Ag-Tec International Ltd. of
Delavan, Wisconsin announces a dedicated website
targeting seed potato production worldwide using the Quantum Tubers
biomanufacturing technology for the rapid multiplication of pathogen-free potato
minitubers.
Minitubers are zero generation nuclear seed potato derived
from in vitro tissue cultured plantlets and used for the first stage of seed potato
multiplication. The Quantum Tubers patented
technology allows for seed potato producers worldwide to eliminate from 5 to 7 years of
field plantings from their seed multiplication schemes saving both time and money. The
controlled production of tens-of-millions of minitubers under this biomanufacturing system
provides for very large quantities of exceptionally high quality seedstocks to be produced
with just two field generations.
The Quantum Tubers
technology system has been developed by Ag-Tec in conjunction with the NASA Space Center
(WCSAR) at the University of Wisconsin and with assistance from the UWM Plant Pathology
Department, Dr. Thomas L. German.
