Euralis Seeds and Limagrain Genetics have decided
to strengthen their research into the creation of new sunflower varieties by pooling the
key stages of sunflower improvement into a single structure, SOLTIS SA.
SOLTIS will bring the two sunflower breeding teams from the two groups together and will
benefit
from the combined genetic material, thus providing a major programme to meet all the needs
of the European market.
Each sales unit will be responsible for registering and developing its own varieties.
This new partnership is the continuity of relations developed by the two co-operative
groups already working in association in the field of biotechnology in Biogemma.
SOLTIS will benefit from the fruit of Biogemma's sunflower biotechnology programmes. Company news release
