Hoechst Schering AgrEvo (AgrEvo) announced today that
its acquisition of Cargill Inc.‘s North American hybrid seed business has not yet
closed. AgrEvo is investigating with the
assistance of Cargill the potential scope and consequences of the complaint alleged by Pioneer Hi–Bred International Inc concerning its
proprietary genetics. The investigation is on-going.
It is AgrEvo’s firm intent to close the acquisition as
soon as possible, providing a solution satisfactory to AgrEvo concerning the issues raised
by the complaint is reached.

Die Hoechst Schering AgrEvo GmbH hat den Erwerb des
nordamerikanischen Hybridmais-Saatgutgeschäfts der Firma Cargill bisher noch nicht
abgeschlossen.
AgrEvo untersucht derzeit mit Hilfe von Cargill die
möglichen Auswirkungen einer Klage, die das US-Saatgutunternehmen Pioneer Hi-Bred
International gegen Cargill erhoben hat. Diese Untersuchungen dauern zur Zeit noch an.
Es ist die feste Absicht von AgrEvo, die Übernahme des
Geschäfts von Cargill baldmöglichst erfolgreich abzuschließen, sofern eine für AgrEvo
zufriedenstellende Lösung der Problematik gefunden werden kann.
