American Takii celebrated the Grand
Opening of its new research station in Yuma, Arizona on January 28th.
Over 100 dignitaries, seed dealers,
growers and associates attended the ribbon cutting ceremony and toured
the new research station facility and the demonstration trial of
vegetable and flower varieties.
Mr. Denichi Takii, President of Takii
& Co., Ltd., Japan, gave a welcome speech to the guests, along
with greetings from the Chairman of the Board of Supervisors for Yuma
County and Mr. Seitaro Sakamoto, Vice President and General Manager of
American Takii, Inc.
The Yuma research station will advance
the breeding program for warm crops such as tomatoes, melons,
cantaloupes, peppers and onions. Demonstration trials and field days
will provide opportunities for evaluation of newly developed Takii
varieties.
