Canada has released its Fall 1999 Seed
Guide, which includes a complete list of currently available Liberty Link hybrids and
hybrids warranted by AgrEvo to be tolerant to Liberty herbicide. 'We have made significant
progress with the Liberty Link program over the past two growing seasons," notes
Greig Zamecnik, Liberty Link Product Manager for AgrEvo. "Corn producers are finding
that Liberty Herbicide based programs are providing excellent weed control. This combined
with the Liberty Link system's outstanding crop safety is leading to higher yields and
profits for producers."
Zamecnik notes that the vast majority of Liberty Link and
warranted hybrids have been approved for sale into the European Union (25 out of 26
available). "The fact that the majority of Liberty Link hybrids marketed by our seed
partners are approved for sale into the EU gives producers the confidence that they
have complete marketing flexibility when using the Liberty Link system and approved
hybrids."
Zamecnik add's that the list of Liberty Link hybrids is
likely to expand later this fall when seed companies make their final selections on new
hybrids that will be brought to the market, He advises producers to contact their seed
suppliers for more information on available and soon to be released Liberty Link hybrids.
