Regina, Saskatchewan - Canada
February 1, 1999If Mother Nature throws
a curve this spring, prairie canola growers have an economical new way to control early-
and late-germinating grassy weeds in their Liberty Link® canola.
Under the Liberty Plus Program launched today by AgrEvo,
farmers will get $5 per acre cash back when they spray Fusion either before or after
spraying Liberty on their Liberty Link canola.
According to Stan Prokopchuk, AgrEvos director of sales for Canada, Liberty Plus
will be a welcome option.
Farmers count on Liberty for fast burndown of a broad spectrum of weeds in their
Liberty Link canola, he says. However, timing can be an issue either
when some weeds emerge at a different time, or when a rain shower causes an unexpected
flush.
Since Fusions extremely effective on grassy weeds, some farmers have used
Fusion either before or after their Liberty, to give them the weed control they need. We
want to make this easy and economical, so were offering farmers $5 in cash for every
acre treated with both Liberty and Fusion. Its that simple.
Liberty Link is a production system in which farmers plant canola varieties and hybrids
genetically modified to be resistant to applications of AgrEvos broad-spectrum
herbicide Liberty. These include InVigor hybrids, as well as the open-pollinated varieties
Exceed, Independence, 2631 LL and Innovator.
