Advanta Seeds has announced its 1999-2000 Gard corn hybrid line-up featuring a full array of technology options. "This year, Garst Seed Company is offering a full range of high yielding corn hybrids for all heat unit areas. This includes hybrids that include not only herbicide tolerance and corn borer but also new technology options such as tolerance to high pH soils and Grey Leafspot", says Tom Claeys, Corn Business Manager for Advanta Seeds. "Under our new crop options, or CrOptions, umbrella, we are highlighting the technology Garst is making available to producers as a leader in the development of performance-enhancing technology traits."

Claeys notes that features under the CrOptions portfolio are several hybrids for the Clearfield(TM) IT herbicide system for use with Patriot(R) herbicide as well as hybrids that are tolerant to European corn borer. He also notes that all but one hybrid are approved for sale in Europe. "Many of the technology traits that Garst is working with, such as the HpH (high soil pH tolerance), Grey leafspot, and Clearfield-IT technology do not require approval in Europe. Other hybrids that feature Liberty Link(TM) and Yieldgard Bt(R) technology have already been approved for sale in Europe."
