LIPSOS (Italian ryegrass,
tetraploid) and PAMPERO (Meadow fescue) are the two new forage
grasses inscribed for Euro
Grass in Germany in December 2007.
The Italian ryegrass LIPSOS impresses by a good health in total.
LIPSOS showed in perennial trials a good tolerance both to Rust,
Fusarium and Bacterial wilt. This variety combines high yields
in the first cut and in the following cuts with a good
stability.
PAMPERO is a meadow fescue of intermediate maturity. In the
German VCU trials the variety impresses with high dry matter
yields both in the first cut and in the following cuts. PAMPERO
receives also high scores for sward density and persistence and
shows a little susceptibility to rust and fusarium.
