Bayer CropScience
today presented its latest crop protection solution to
scientists and media representatives at its research site in
Lyon, France: the fungicidal active ingredient fluopyram.
Fluopyram is one of three substances from Bayer CropScience’s
research pipeline that are scheduled to reach the market in
2010. The company is convinced that it can achieve annual peak
sales of more than EUR 150 million worldwide with this new
active ingredient. The first marketing authorization is expected
to be granted in the United States in 2010. Registrations of
fluopyram-based products in Europe are anticipated as of 2011.
New broad-spectrum fungicide for use in more than 70 crops
Fluopyram belongs to a new chemical class known as pyridinyl
ethylbenzamides, and was developed to effectively combat various
plant diseases caused by fungal pathogens including diseases
such as gray mold, powdery mildew, sclerotinia and monilia
diseases which can cause considerable financial damage. It will
be available for more than 70 crops, including vines and table
grapes, pome and stone fruit, vegetables and field crops.
Another advantage for users is that fluopyram shows very high
efficiency at low application rates both on its own and in
combination with other Bayer fungicides. In addition, the active
ingredient is also suitable as an important element for
effective resistance management.

Wissenschaftlern und Medienvertretern erstmals seine neueste
Pflanzenschutzlösung vor: den Fungizidwirkstoff Fluopyram.
Fluopyram ist eine von drei Substanzen aus der
Forschungspipeline des Unternehmens, die im Jahr 2010 die
Marktreife erlangen sollen. Das Unternehmen ist überzeugt, mit
diesem neuen Wirkstoff ein jährliches Umsatzziel von mehr als
150 Millionen Euro erreichen zu können. Die erste Zulassung wird
in den USA im Jahr Jahr 2010 erwartet. Mit Registrierungen von
Produkten auf Basis von Fluopyram in Europa wird ab dem Jahr
2011 gerechnet.
Breitspektrum-Fungizid für den Einsatz in mehr als 70
Kulturen
Fluopyram gehört zu einer neuen chemischen Klasse, den
Pyridinyl-ethylbenzamiden, und wurde zur effektiven Bekämpfung
von verschiedenen Pflanzenkrankheiten entwickelt, die durch
Pilzerreger hervorgerufen werden. Dazu zählen Krankheiten wie
Grauschimmel, Echter Mehltau, Sclerotinia oder die
Monilia-Krankheit, die beträchtliche wirtschaftliche Schäden
verursachen können. Einsatzgebiete sind mehr als 70 Kulturen,
darunter Wein- und Tafeltrauben, Kern- und Steinobst, Gemüse und
Ackerbaukulturen. Weitere Vorteile für den Anwender: Fluopyram
zeigt sehr gute Wirkung in niedrigen Aufwandmengen sowohl solo
als auch in Mischungen mit anderen Bayer-Fungiziden. Der
Wirkstoff eignet sich darüber hinaus als ein wichtiger Baustein
für ein effektives Resistenz-Management. |
