U.S. National Sunflower
Association board members granted $250,000 in research
grants distributed over ten states covering literally all
aspects of production.
An additional $80,000 was awarded to sunflower researchers from
the ND Harmonization Board and additional funds are expected
from the Sclerotinia Initiative.
Much of the work relates to insect and disease resistance with
testing in multiple locations.
There are two studies on nitrogen management and use and three
studies related to managing irrigation water use.
All of the awarded research grants will be posted on the NSA
