Dennis McCarthy, a veteran
investment banker with over 25 years experience, has joined
AgriCapital Advisors,
AgriCapital’s team of executives and professionals, to serve
the special needs of publicly-traded agribusiness companies and
to strengthen AgriCapital’s capabilities in growth and renewal
financings.
Mr. McCarthy is a long-time colleague of AgriCapital having
served as co-advisor on a half dozen deals with AgriCapital over
the last decade. His role as a member of AgriCapital Advisors
links Mr. McCarthy more closely with AgriCapital to serve
clients as one firm.
“Over the last decade, AgriCapital and I have worked together as
a seamless team as coadvisors on many projects. I’m confident
that our new closer working relationship will yield great
benefits for our clients over the next decade.” added Mr.
McCarthy.
Mr. McCarthy has served as a senior investment banker with firms
including Prudential Securities, Drexel Burnham, EF Hutton, Roth
Capital, The Seidler Companies and B. Riley. He brings his
experience in serving public companies to enhance and expand
AgriCapital’s current focus on public and private companies in
the agribusiness industry.
“We’re very pleased to have Dennis McCarthy join AgriCapital
Advisors. His experience with public company financing and M&A
expands our capability in raising private debt and public equity
as well as our skills in public company M&A transactions. Our
goal is to bring to each of our clients a complete range of
creative ideas and a team of seasoned professions. Dennis’
addition aids in our effort.” commented Rurik Halaby, founder
and Chairman of AgriCapital.
Mr. McCarthy’s experience with life science companies includes
companies serving the animal kingdom, such as Digital Angel and
Destron Fearing as well as companies focused on human health,
such as Hycor/Stratagene, SynX, Binax and Epoch Bioscience.
Private debt financings include arranging a mezzanine loan for
ReadyPac, the large bag salad company, which raised long-term
debt capital but didn’t disrupt its historical senior banking
relationships.
“In contrast to the common perception, private debt is available
for acquisitions and growth projects. Our clients are seeing
great acquisition opportunities at reasonable prices, now.
Raising private debt financing on attractive terms can make
these acquisitions feasible.” commented Mr. McCarthy.
Twenty-five years ago,
AgriCapital pioneered the concept of a professional
investment bank providing its services exclusively to
agribusiness companies. As we celebrate our silver anniversary,
the hallmark of our business remains our commitment to making
the customer’s interest paramount in all that we do. Since 1983,
over three hundred agribusinesses have benefited from our
knowledge, experience, diligence, and perseverance. For
