Western Australia
February 16, 2009
Few topics in Western Australian
agriculture are as controversial as genetically modified (GM)
canola, so it's bound to raise a bit of heat when it comes up
for discussion at the Grains
Research and Development Corporation (GRDC) supported WA
Agribusiness Crop Updates on February 25 at Burswood
Entertainment Complex.
However, the highly qualified panel discussing it is sure to
shine plenty of light on the subject, with expert speakers such
as
- James Nielsen of Monsanto,
- Andrew Wells of Nufarm,
- Peter Metcalfe of the
Department of Agriculture and Food WA (DAFWA),
- private consultant Andrew
Storrie and
- GRDC Western Panel member
David Fienberg of CBH.
Chair and Facilitator is Bevan
Addison of Add-Agri Enterprises.
Earlier the same day, GRDC Executive Manager, Varieties, John
Harvey, will address the GRDC's perspective on the prospects for
GM herbicide resistant lupins. |
