Cal/West Seeds
is pleased to announce that John Palmer has been named as their
Operations Manager effective July 27, 2009. This appointment
concludes a lengthy search for the right person for this key
role in its organization. John will be located at the Corporate
Offices in Woodland, CA and will immediately become responsible
for inventory management, plant operations, customer service /
logistics and oversight of the laboratory.
He brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the Cal/West
team having worked in a wide range of positions within the J G
Boswell Company, Dow AgroSciences, California Planting Cotton
Seed Distributors (CPCSD), Bayer Crop Sciences and most recently
Absorbent Technologies. His educational background includes a
Bachelors Degree in Plant Science from UC Davis and a Masters in
Agronomy from Kansas State University.
In addition to his qualifications, John is active in the
California seed industry currently serving as President of the
California Seed Association. He also serves as a Director and is
a past president for the California Crop Improvement
Association.

When asked why John wanted to work for Cal/West Seeds he

I’ve worked with these folks since 1980 when I was at Boswell
and am very, very glad to be joining an operation with their
excellent reputation.”
John and his wife Sharon currently reside in Bakersfield, CA.
and plan on relocating to the Woodland / Davis area in the near
future.
