Canterra Seeds’ wheat portfolio got a big boost today with
the registration of a new Canadian Western Red Spring wheat
Glenn. Glenn came to Canterra Seeds from a relationship with
North Dakota State University Research Foundation. For Glenn
seed please contact Canterra Seeds Authorized Seed Growers. For
more information visit www.canterra.com.
Already a proven performer in the United States, Glenn gives
producers in areas prone to rusts and fusarium head blight (FHB)
something to be excited about. Glenn has excellent yield
potential, high test weight and low DON levels. Glenn also
offers one of the best disease resistance packages against rust
and FHB.
“This is an exciting time for Canterra Seeds,” explained
Canterra Seeds Chief Executive Officer Richard Kieper. “We are
thrilled to be bringing new innovation to the marketplace.
Glenn’s addition to the market will greatly benefit farmers. We
strongly encourage all farmers to buy certified seed to allow
for the continued reinvestment in cutting edge genetics.”
Canterra Seeds has exclusive Canadian marketing rights to the
variety and will be working with Richardson International to
launch Glenn. Protected under Plant Breeder Rights (PBR) here in
Canada, it is also protected under Plant Variety Protection
(PVP) in the United States. Seed for Glenn is available in
limited quantity this spring through Canterra Seeds’ Authorized
Seed Growers.
Owned by 185+ Western Canadian shareholders, Canterra Seeds is
committed to the development of genetically superior seed
varieties. From high-yielding canola hybrids to a versatile
portfolio of cereals, pulses and other crop kinds, customers are
assured of optimal performance. |
