BioWorks offers scholarship through AFE

BioWorks Inc. is pleased to announce a scholarship sponsored through the American Floral Endowment titled the “BioWorks IPM/Sustainable Practices Scholarship” for students pursuing a career in floriculture. While not mandatory, it is strongly desired that the student be interested in furthering the use of Integrated Pest
Management (“IPM”) or Sustainable practices and preference will be given in this area.

Students will be selected on the basis of sound academic performance and a grade point average of 3.0 (where 4.0 = A) or better. Students wanting to apply for this scholarship may do so by completing an application by May 1, 2008. The application is available through the American Floral Endowment website at http://www.endowment.org/education/afe/ .

AFE, founded in 1961, is the leading non-for-profit 501(c)(3) funding source for floricultural/environmental horticulture research and educational programs in the United States. The Endowment is supported by more than 1,000 companies and individuals throughout the industry.
