Bioworks announces addition of Rootshield WP to its product line

.

Victor, New York
September 16, 2008

BioWorks Inc. is pleased to announce their newest product, RootShield® WP. On August 15, 2008 the company received EPA registration on the product, which is a new and improved formulation of their current biological fungicide, PlantShield® HC.

With this new wettable powder formulation, RootShield WP will not clog drip emitters, drip tape or irrigation booms. RootShield WP provides preventative control of major root diseases including Pythium, Fusarium, Rhizoctonia Thielaviopsis and Cylindrocladium by growing on roots, protecting them against damaging fungi. RootShield WP is registered for indoor and outdoor root disease control on greenhouse and outdoor ornamentals, herbs, and vegetables, and has a 0-hour Restricted Entry Interval (REI), the lowest REI of all biological fungicides.

“We are very pleased to have this improved wettable powder formulation EPA approved,” commented John Francis, Director of Marketing and Technical Services of BioWorks. “Having a more effective way to deliver RootShield to plants helps us meet our customer needs, making it even easier for them to use,” he added.

BioWorks expects to be able to sell RootShield WP in approved states in October, 2008.

BioWorks, Inc., a privately held company, provides environmentally responsible, safe and cost-effective solutions to the horticulture industry.
