fünf Branchen für effizientes Technologiemanagement
ausgezeichnet
Für sein zielgerichtetes und
effizientes Technologiemanagement wurde
Bayer CropScience
vom Fraunhofer-Institut für Produktionstechnologie IPT als
bestes europäisches Unternehmen der Branche mit dem "Successful
Practice" Award ausgezeichnet.
"Wir freuen uns sehr über diese Auszeichnung, denn sie belegt,
dass Bayer CropScience im Agrobusiness Maßstäbe im Technologie-
und Innovationsmanagement setzt. In unserer Industrie wollen wir
als Innovationsführer dazu beitragen, nachhaltige Lösungen für
die Sicherung von Ernten und Erträgen in der
landwirtschaftlichen Produktion zu entwickeln", erklärte Prof.
Dr. Friedrich Berschauer, Vorstandsvorsitzender der Bayer
CropScience AG zur Auszeichnung des Unternehmens.
Optimales Technologiemanagement trug erheblich dazu bei, dass
Bayer CropScience in den letzten Jahren durchschnittlich 2 bis 3
neue Pflanzenschutzmittelwirkstoffe jährlich in den Markt
einführen konnte. Im Geschäftsjahr 2007 investierte das
Unternehmen 637 Millionen Euro in Forschung und Entwicklung und
stellt damit einen der größten Forschungsetats der Branche.
"Unsere Forschung ist auch deshalb so erfolgreich, weil wir
hervorragende Wissenschaftler haben und modernste Technologien
nutzen", erläutert Prof. Berschauer das Erfolgskonzept des
Unternehmens. "Die bereichsübergreifende Zusammenarbeit bei
Bayer CropScience hat Vorbildcharakter", begründet
Dipl.-Physiker Jörg Saxler, Projektleiter beim Fraunhofer IPT,
die Entscheidung des Instituts. "Die intensive Einbindung des
Marketings mit seiner Nähe zum Markt und zum Kunden zeigt den
hohen strategischen Stellenwert des Technologiemanagements."
Technologien haben einen wesentlichen Einfluss auf die
Wettbewerbsfähigkeit von Unternehmen. "Vor diesem Hintergrund
war es unser Ziel, die industrielle Praxis im
Technologiemanagement aufzuzeigen und Erfolgsfaktoren für ein
zielgerichtetes und effizientes Technologiemanagement
abzuleiten", erklärt Jörg Saxler. Das in Aachen angesiedelte
Fraunhofer-Institut für Produktionstechnologie IPT hat dazu 170
europäische Unternehmen aus den unterschiedlichsten Branchen,
vom Maschinenbau, Schiffbau, Luft- und Raumfahrt, Medizintechnik
bis hin zu Pharmazie und Chemie, befragt. Die Ergebnisse wurden
gestern in Aachen vorgestellt.
Der "Successful Practice Award" wurde an fünf europäische
Unternehmen
verliehen: Neben Bayer CropScience wurden die Beiersdorf AG, die
Dräxlmaier Group, die Festo AG und die Weidmüller Interface GmbH
& Co. KG prämiert.
Fraunhofer Institute for Production Technology presents study:
"Successful Practice Award" goes to Bayer CropScience
European companies in five sectors commended for
efficient technology management
Bayer CropScience has been chosen by the Fraunhofer
Institute for Production Technology (IPT) to receive the
Successful Practice Award as the company with the best targeted
and efficient technology management in the sector in Europe. "We
are delighted to receive this award which underscores that Bayer
CropScience is setting benchmarks in technology and innovation
management in agribusiness. As an innovation leader within our
industry Bayer CropScience contributes to developing sustainable
solutions to safeguard harvests and yields in agricultural
production", explained Professor Dr. Friedrich Berschauer,
Chairman of the Board of Management of Bayer CropScience AG on
the occasion of the award ceremony.
Optimal technology management plays a major role in helping
Bayer CropScience to bring an average of two to three new crop
protection active ingredients to market in recent years. In the
financial year 2007 the company invested EUR 637 million in
research and development, one of the biggest research budgets in
the sector. "Our research is so successful because we have
outstanding scientists and use state-of-the-art technology,"
Professor Berschauer commented the company´s key to success.
"The interdepartmental collaboration at Bayer CropScience is
exemplary,"
was how Jörg Saxler, Project Manager at IPT, explained the
Institute’s decision. "The intensive involvement of Marketing,
with its proximity to markets and customers, shows the high
strategic value that Bayer CropScience accords to technology
management."
Technologies have a fundamental impact on the competitiveness of
a company.
"Against this background, our objective was to look at
industrial practice in technology management and to identify the
factors that lead to successful targeted and efficient
technology management," Saxler said. The Fraunhofer Institute
for Production Technology, based in Aachen, questioned 170
European companies in a variety of sectors ranging from
mechanical engineering, shipbuilding, aviation and space
technology, medical technology, pharmaceuticals and chemicals.
The results of the survey were presented recently in Aachen.
The Successful Practice Award was conferred on five European
companies:
Bayer CropScience, Beiersdorf AG, the Dräxlmaier Group, Festo AG
and Weidmüller Interface GmbH & Co. KG.
