Wintersteiger presents the new Delta Plot Combine

.

Ried im Innkreis, Austria
March 27, 2003

Wintersteiger, the Austrian manufacturer of special machines, presented the new “delta” plot combine at its innovations day on December 9 2003. Over 100 customers from Germany accepted the invitation to the Hünersdorff estate in Wörth am Main.

In his presentation, Martin Schubert, Head of Division Seedmech at Wintersteiger, explained that breeding as well as yield and cultivar trials are increasingly being carried out by fewer but larger enterprises on a smaller number of stations. This leads to breeding as well as yield and cultivar trials, sometimes even of different crops, taking place on one station. This results in new demands being placed on the equipment used. Previously it was expected that a harvester would either be mix-free or have a high capacity. Now it is must be both – a gap which no plot combine could bridge at that time.

This is where the Wintersteiger “delta“ does the splits and can be used on all threshable crops due to its modularity. At the same time the “delta” also comes with a 3-year guarantee that is unique amongst plot combines.

Features of the new “delta” at a glance:

  • Mix-free and high-performance cutters with integrated pneumatic clean out system. A corn attachment and special harvesting attachments are available for dealing with the most varied types of crops.
  • Maximum threshing power and maximum level of crop purity due to high-performance threshing unit, two-stage shaker with threshing box conveyor belt and a twin-sieve system.
  • Easy operation due to hydraulic steering, hydrostatic drive unit and a multifunctional lever for controlling all driving and harvesting functions with one hand.
  • Comfortable working conditions with optimum all-round view due to spaciously designed cabin with the most up-to-date operating and control functions.
  • Maximum daily output due to generous proportions of grain tank with efficient emptying system.
  • Huge variety of bagging options plus an automatic weighing system with humidity measurement and sampling allow the machine to be adapted specifically to the different requirements of agricultural experimentation.
  • Easy maintenance due to good access to individual machine components.
  • 3-year guarantee.

The Wintersteiger Group works in the product niches of special machines for seed breeding research (Division Seedmech), precision cutting machines for wood processing (Division Engineering) and ski service machines (Division Sports). As the market leader in all three sectors it turned over around 60 million Euros with 450 employees in 2002.

WINTERSTEIGER AG is a special machine constructor from Upper Austria and has concentrated on niche markets since its establishment in 1953. Today WINTERSTEIGER is a global market leader in each of its three business divisions:
- Division SEEDMECH: Total solutions for agricultural field experiments
- Division SPORTS: Total solutions for the rental and servicing of skis and snowboards
- Division WOODTECH: Total solutions for precise thin-cutting of wood

WINTERSTEIGER’s Division SEEDMECH provides solutions for the entire process of agricultural field experimentation. This enables the research, breeding, testing and seed increases of agricultural crops and special crops at the highest level. The product range covers plot combines, plot seeders, laboratory equipment and equipment for fertilising and plant protection.
Headquarters in the Upper Austrian town of Ried/Innkreis, 16 proprietary company sites and 60 subsidiary offices supply a total of 130 countries throughout the world. This secures WINTERSTEIGER an export share of approximately 88%. Group sales of the enterprise, which employs around 600 staff, were just short of EUR 85 million in 2007.
