Appointment of Frank Barenbrug as Member of the Board of Directors of the Royal Barenbrug Group

Mr Frank Barenbrug has been appointed to the Board of Directors of Barenbrug Holding BV. Frank Barenbrug represents the 'fourth generation' in the board of this family business with a leading position in the international grass seed market. As member of the Board of Directors, Frank Barenbrug will assume responsibility for Business Development, Production and Marketing of the Group, worldwide.

Frank Barenbrug (34) has been with Barenbrug for over 10 years. After his studies in International Trade at the Agricultural University, he started his career in Thailand as export manager for MMP, an international producer of packaging materials.

In 1997, he joined the Barenbrug Group as a member of the marketing team of New Zealand Agriseeds. From 1999, he was active in South America as production, purchasing & export manager of Barenbrug Palaversich in Argentina and later as export manager in Europe. Frank Barenbrug was appointed in 2005 as Managing Director of Barenbrug Palaversich in Argentina. He will be succeeded in this position by Eduardo Bayley.

From 10 March 2008, Frank Barenbrug is stationed at the head office of the Group in the Netherlands (Oosterhout Nijmegen). With his international experience in business development, marketing & sales and production, Frank Barenbrug will focus in particular on the growth targets of the company.

The Royal Barenbrug Group is an international company with the core activities of plant breeding, grass seed production and global marketing of grass seed. With 500 employees and 20 subsidiaries in 12 countries on five continents, Barenbrug is one of the largest grass seed companies in the world. In 2004, the company received the designation "Royal" during the celebration of its 100th anniversary.
