Since 2002, FAO and its
partners have been carrying out a survey to assess national
plant breeding and related biotechnology capacity worldwide.
The survey is currently concluded in 62 countries and is still
ongoing in 30 countries through the support of FAO and the
Global Partnership Initiative for Plant Breeding Capacity
Building (GIPB). The Plant Breeding and related Biotechnology
Capacity assessment (PBBC) database is now available on the web,
providing information from the survey in an easily searchable
format.
