The World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO)
Worldwide Academy is offering a distance learning advanced
course on biotechnology and intellectual property (IP).
One of the aims of the course is to enable participants to learn
about definitions and concepts that are commonly used in the IP
field, especially by IP professionals who work in the
biotechnology field.
The course covers topics such as the nature of plant breeder's
rights systems and IP as a factor in research in development. It
involves about 100 hours of study time over a period of 10 weeks
and is offered twice a year, initially in English, French and
Spanish.
