Effective 1st February 2008, Mario
Rivas will join Germain’s Technology Group Inc. in a newly
created position as Head of Sales and Marketing. Mr. Rivas will
be responsible for the development, implementation and
management of Germain’s North and South American sales and
marketing strategy. Mr. Rivas will report to Cathy Farr,
Regional Director – North America.
Mr. Rivas, a
Masters’ graduate of the Louisiana State University in
Horticulture, has a career spanning over 30 years where he held
senior technical development and commercial management roles
with blue chip companies such as Petoseed (now Seminis), Frit
Industries and latterly, Kemira GrowHow.
His career
path has enabled him to gain an enviable level of business
development and management experience in core and new markets.
Many of his achievements are based on the successful
introduction of novel technologies and products in North,
Central and Latin American agricultural and horticultural
markets, driving significant growth for his company.
Cathy Farr,
Regional Director, states: ’Germain’s Technology Group is
experiencing a tremendous amount of growth in its core
activities in seed enhancement and technology services. We are
making great strides into other American markets, and have a
growing pipeline of new products to develop for market in the

Technology Group Inc. has locations in Gilroy California, and
Fargo, North Dakota, and provides seed enhancement services on a
wide range of horticultural seeds, and sugar beet seed.
