Solid crop performance experienced by Delta farmers in 2007 has continued to fuel steady growth for Clarksdale, Mississippi-based Dulaney Seed, Inc. CEO and General Manager, Terry Dulaney said, “Through the fall, we were very pleased with growers’ reports of consistently performing crop yields across the Delta, and more enthused with how well AgVenture corn hybrids helped contribute toward Mississippi’s record corn production in 2007.” Dulaney says while USDA predicts fewer corn acres in Mississippi in 2008, “Our AgVenture corn sales continue strong. Growers are finding these hybrids that are specifically adapted to our region can really make a difference in their profitability on every acre.”

Soybean acres are taking over much of last year’s corn ground according to Dulaney. He said reports of tight soybean seed supplies across the Mid-South and into the cornbelt have merit. “It’s true that supplies are tight and securing desired quantities of specific varieties can be challenging. However, AgVenture is actively working with growers to help them access the best varieties available for their 2008 soybean acres.”

One-on-one growers support has been key to steady growth for the AgVenture® brand in the area according to Dulaney. As sales have grown, so has their staff of seed professionals. Most recently, Dulaney Seed has hired Stephen Lary as a Professional Crop Planner to join their veteran team of seed specialists. Dulaney said, “We’re pleased to have Stephen join our AgVenture team.”

Lary brings ten years of agricultural experience to AgVenture. Born in Greenwood, MS., he received a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of Mississippi. After college, he spent eight years at Pennington Seed. For two years, he worked for PCS Fertilizer.

Lary currently lives in Madison County with his wife, Heather, and their two sons, Luke and Wade.
