As reports of potential seed
shortages begin to surface throughout the industry,
Syngenta Seeds is
positioning itself to meet industry needs by releasing 10 new
NK® Brand soybean varieties with supply for the 2008 planting
season. In addition, Syngenta Seeds is releasing nine more
varieties that will be available for the 2009 season.
“Combined with the 23 new varieties released earlier for this
year, these 10 varieties deliver more choices and enhanced
supply to growers,” said Steve Knodle, NK Soybean brand manager
for Syngenta. “When factoring in the nine new varieties for the
2009 season, we feel confident growers will have access to the
best genetics and agronomic packages, allowing them to reach new
levels of yield potential on their farms.”
“The new varieties represent maturity Group 00 to a mid-Group
VII and have demonstrated strong performance in trials,” said
Gene Kassmeyer, head of the Syngenta Seeds soybean product line.
“Many are bred to provide superior sudden death syndrome and
soybean cyst nematode resistance, giving growers flexibility to
choose the variety that matches the unique challenges facing
each field.”
Kassmeyer added, “At Syngenta, we are committed to providing
growers with top-performing products and agronomic expertise. We
accomplish this through continual investment in soybean research
to deliver elite genetics and enhance performance in the field
with our broad seed treatment and crop protection portfolio that
maximizes yield and profit for growers. Growers who purchase NK
Brand Soybeans and apply qualifying Syngenta Crop Protection
products are eligible to earn valuable yield incentives through
the Syngenta 2008 AgriEdge® Soybean Program.”
The new NK Brand soybeans are available through Garst®, Golden
Harvest® and NK Seeds dealers. The attached fact sheet provides
