If you are a farmer or gardener
looking for quality-assured seed to plant this year, the
Iowa Crop
Improvement Association (ICIA) recently published the 2008
Iowa Seed Directory. To get your free copy of the Iowa Seed
Directory contact the ICIA at (515) 294-6921 or
iowacrop@iastate.edu.
The directory also can be found at
http://www.agron.iastate.edu/icia/.
Seed production information from more than 100 producers and
conditioners is listed in this year's directory. Iowa Seed
Directory listings are composed of ICIA members who range from
farmer-owned seed enterprises to multinational companies. The
directory lists fields inspected for genetic identity and purity
during the 2008 season. The Iowa Seed Directory is published
annually as a resource for quality seeds of soybeans, oats,
wheat and native prairie species.
The ICIA encourages consumers to request analysis information
when making seed purchases. Documentation of seed germination,
purity and presence of weed species assures the purchase of
quality seed. |
