We are pleased to announce that
Mr. James (Jim) Merrill has joined
Cal/West Seeds in the
position of Chief Financial Officer effective today. Jim is a
Certified Management Accountant (CMA) with over lO years of
senior financial management experience.
Jim has over twenty years of experience in accounting and
financial reporting. In addition to having finance and
accounting experience in non-ag related business, Jim has a
broad background in cooperative accounting having held several
positions with Blue Diamond Growers including inventory
accounting supervisor, cost accountant, financial analyst,
controller and director of treasury operations.
As our CFO, Jim will be responsible for Human Resources,
Insurance, Accounting, Information Systems, Banking as well as
administrator for our Profit Sharing and 401 K -plans. We are
fortunate to have a financial leader with such a broad base of
experience on our management team.
Jim currently resides in Sacramento with his wife Vangie and
their daughter Lizzie. Please join me in welcoming Jim as our
