Innovotech Inc.
(TSX VENTURE:IOT), in partnership with agricultural stations in
Alberta, Saskatchewan, and Manitoba, is pleased to announce the
initiation of summer field trials with its novel seed treatment,
AgressTM. Innovotech is testing the efficacy of Agress™ against
multiple diseases on beans, peas, and soybeans to advance its
marketing plan and recent registration application with Health
Canada and the US Environmental Protection Agency.
"This is the next step to verify the efficacy of Agress™ in real
world conditions that a farmer might face, using multiple
locations across Canada to simulate variability of climate and
soil conditions. It is also the next step in expanding the
disease and crop scope for Agress™," says Damian Sowa, Product
Manager, Innovotech. "Agress™ will break new ground in crop
protection, coupling environmental friendliness with broad
spectrum effectiveness at low rates of application."
Innovotech anticipates regulatory approval for Agress™ in Canada
and the United States mid- to late-2009, permitting sales launch
for the 2010 season. Research is currently underway to expand
the claims of Agress™ to the major crops in North America and
additional disease classes.
Innovotech is a product development company focusing on the
development of solutions to medical, agricultural and industrial
problems caused by microbial biofilms. Biofilms are protected
communities of microorganisms which are very common and very
difficult to treat due to their inherent resistance. They have
been implicated in a host of devastating infections in
agriculture, human health and industry. No diagnostics or
antibiotics are currently approved for use in infections
involving biofilms. |
