PSR Global Genetics expands its corn breeding operations in South America

PSR Global Genetics maize inbred development program is expanding into parts of Argentina and Brazil.

“We’re seeing their material performing well in northern Argentina and southern Brazil. Their rapid cycling system has constructed strong populations that adapt well to South America”, says Eduardo Teyssandier, PSR Global Genetics South American Representative.

PSR Global Genetics’ Rapid Inbreeding® technology is the engine behind the company’s products, producing thousands of inbred lines each year. The technology is revolutionary in developing corn inbreds at a fraction of the cost of other methods, allowing for fast cycling of yield improvement within populations.

“Rapid inbreeding has certainly proven its ability to build commercial germplasm with adaptations of today’s environments,” says Jim Dodd CEO. Strong partnerships have helped PSR Global Genetics broaden its germplasm bank internationally.

“Our partners are crucial to our success, we place high value in their expertise in testing and in the evaluation of our inbreds in their environment,” continues Dr. Dodd.

PSR Global Genetics, LLC was formed in 2006 as an independent corn genetics provider to the US seed and biotech industries. Today, PSR Global Genetics has partnerships with North America, South America and Europe.
