GreenLeaf Genetics names Dr. Dana Eaton head of product development

GreenLeaf Genetics LLC names Dana Eaton, Ph.D., as the company’s head of product development.

As product development head, Eaton will be responsible for product development, including identifying and sourcing new genetic and trait materials, managing product introgression and creating customer offers.

Eaton previously served as director of research for both NC+ Hybrids and Pannar Seed. He also worked at DEKALB Genetics as a program manager and Asgrow Seed Company as a research scientist.

A graduate of Iowa State University, Eaton earned bachelor’s degrees in agronomy and Spanish. He earned his master’s degree and doctorate in plant breeding and genetics from the University of Minnesota. He is a member of the American Society of Agronomy and the Crop Science Society of America.

GreenLeaf Genetics is a joint venture formed by Syngenta and Pioneer Hi-Bred International, Inc., and offers licenses for a broad range of corn and soybean genetics. The company also coordinates the licensing of biotech traits from its parent companies, including Syngenta Agrisure® traits for herbicide tolerance and insect resistance and the Optimum® GAT® herbicide tolerant trait developed by Pioneer.
