The
board of Westrup A/S in
Slagelse is pleased to announce that as of 1st September 2008
Mr. Peter Thorn has been employed as the new CEO of the company.
Mr. Peter Thorn is 41 years old and is educated as an
agronomist. He is leaving a position as European sales executive
for all after market sales at the American group AGCO, a company
selling and manufacturing a wide range of agricultural equipment
like Massey Ferguson, Valtra, and Fendt.
Mr. Peter Thorn succeeds Mr. Mogens Dahl-Nielsen as CEO for
Westrup A/S.
In February 2008, John
Fowler India Pvt. Ltd. took over all shares in Westrup A/S,
as Mr. Mogens Dahl-Nielsen chose to sell his remaining 50% block
of shares. In connection with the sale, Mr. Mogens Dahl-Nielsen
wanted to leave the post as CEO for Westrup A/S. Mr. Mogens
Dahl-Nielsen will, however, continue his work as deputy chairman
of the board and as a consultant for the company with the aim of
expanding the activities of the group.
Westrup A/S is known worldwide as one of the leading
manufacturers of key machines and processing lines for seed and
grain conditioning. The company also has activities within other
industrial segments. The equipment is distributed through
associated companies and joint ventures in Sweden, UK, Germany
France, Australia, Hungary, United States, and India including a
global net of distributors. The Westrup group comploys about 175
people and had a turnover of 163 million DKK in 2007.
As mentioned above, Westrup A/S is now fully owned by John
Fowler India Pvt. Ltd., which is owned by the Barwale family. In
1964 Mr.. B.R. Barwale founded the group
Maharashtra Hybrid Seeds Co.
Ltd., also known as Mahyco, which is a global company within
seed production with their base in India. |
