The DuPont Knowledge Center in Hyderabad, India, recently inaugurated its Biotechnology Research Center, welcoming 53 scientists to the new unit.

The center will support R&D activities in crop and industrial biotechnology for global markets. Research teams will work together to develop products from renewable resources for food, materials and energy markets.

“The Biotech Center will provide substantially increased competitiveness to build the future of DuPont and contribute to India’s growth,” said DS Kim, president, DuPont Asia Pacific.

“We already have more than 50 outstanding scientists here who are eager to accelerate their research efforts and grow our biotechnology programs,” said John Bebrook, vice president, R&D, DuPont Agriculture & Nutrition.

“We are creating a new paradigm in biotechnology. The presence of crop genetics research and industrial biotechnology scientists under one roof will create exciting new opportunities,” said Homi Bhedwar, director, DuPont Knowledge Center.

The DuPont Knowledge Center focuses on research and product application development for both global and local markets.
