Kentland, Indiana
April 16, 2008

Seed industry veteran, Jim Zimmer, has been named CEO of Channel Bio Corp.
Channel Bio is part of American Seeds, Inc., a Monsanto holding company.

Jim replaces Aline Funk who recently stepped down as Channel Bio’s CEO to take a position with a program called AGRA (The Alliance for a Green Revolution in Africa). Don Funk continues as President of Channel Bio.

Most recently, Mr. Zimmer was Vice President of Monsanto’s U.S. Branded Business. He joined Monsanto in 1992 as a field sales representative. He has since held various sales, marketing and business unit leadership roles within Monsanto’s U.S. commercial organization in chemistry, germplasm, traits, biotech grain and licensing strategies.

“Our business is focused on seedsmanship and building trust with farmers,” says Don Funk. “Growing up on a corn and soybean farm near Mattoon, Illinois, plus his 16 years of business experience with Monsanto, will help Jim and Channel continue to serve our customers well.”

Channel Bio Corp. is one of the largest and fastest-growing seed corn and soybean seed companies in the U.S. with more than 280 full-time sales representatives working directly with row-crop farmers. The Channel brands are Crow’s Hybrids, Kentland, Indiana; Midwest Seed Genetics, Carroll, Iowa; and NC+ Hybrids of Lincoln, Nebraska.
