AgVenture, Inc. (AVI) today announces it has hired Brian Sims as District Sales Manager in Southwest Indiana. Sims joins the nation’s largest network of independently owned and operated regional seed companies with both experience and leadership in agribusiness. He will market AgVenture® brand corn, soybeans and alfalfa to growers across 7 southwest Indiana counties; Vigo, Clay, Sullivan, Greene, Knox, Daviess, and Martin Counties.

AgVenture Business Development Manager, Chuck Schneider said, “Brian brings a solid understanding of production agriculture to the area along with practical expertise in education and retail.” He continued, “We’re pleased to have a professional of Brian’s caliber share the AgVenture story with growers.”

Sims commented, “AgVenture’s unique business model drew me to the company. The fact that AgVenture has access to all the major trait and genetic suppliers means the products are better adapted to each individual grower’s needs. That unmatched access is crucial in delivering competitive, consistently performing hybrids and varieties.”

His retail experience comes from nine years consultative selling working with growers. Sims worked the Knox County Cooperative, and served as a company sales representative with Ag Chem Equipment where his territory covered southwest Indiana and Kentucky. He also worked as a chemical rep with Aventis. Simultaneous to his retail and sales careers, Sims has taught at Vincennes University and has been a regular presenter with ongoing training programs for custom applicators.

Schneider stated, “I think area growers will truly benefit from Brian’s education expertise. When it comes to raising crops proficiently, his teaching skills will certainly be an advantage for his customers.”

Sims has a Bachelors Degree in Business Administration from University of Southern Indiana. He and his wife, Lynn have two children and reside in Mount Vernon, Indiana.
