NCGA membership maintains upward trend - Syngenta Seeds sponsors membership program

.

Golden Valley, Minnesota
October 8, 2007

Syngenta Seeds announced today that it is continuing its sponsorship of the membership recruitment program for the National Corn Growers Association (NCGA). This is the seventh year that Syngenta has supported the membership recruitment program, and during that time, NCGA has been able to maintain an upward trend in membership, even as other association membership numbers have declined. The NCGA currently represents over 32,300 corn growers across 48 states.

“Syngenta has a deep commitment to the corn industry in the U.S., and we recognize the value the NCGA brings to the industry,” said Jack Bernens, head of industry relations for Syngenta Seeds. “The NCGA serves as a strong voice for corn growers. Supporting their membership recruitment efforts, helps build a strong membership base that represents the priorities and concerns of corn growers across the country”.

“The sponsorship support we receive from Syngenta allows us to strategically plan and operate our membership program,” explained Matt Gibson, chairman of the Grower Services Action Team (GSAT), the formal committee that oversees NCGA membership. “The NCGA helps protect and advance the interests of corn growers across the country. Sponsorship is essential to our membership recruiting efforts by providing incentives, tools and training to our recruiters across the Corn Belt, such as the annual Membership Symposium, where we train and motivate recruiters and state association staff and generate new ideas to increase membership.”

Syngenta proudly supports the corn industry in many other ways as well, by working with the NCGA on product stewardship; making new products available such as Agrisure® corn traits that allow corn hybrids to reach their full genetic potential or developing new output trait technologies, such as corn amylase to make the ethanol industry more productive.

“As the industry continues to move forward, growers have more opportunities to capitalize on new technologies and increase profits,” Bernens continues. “From developing new traits to discovering new markets for corn, Syngenta is working with corn growers and their NCGA to support this important industry and help it continue to thrive.”
