Eurofins US (formerly
GeneScan) and the
Illinois Crop Improvement Association (ICIA) first announced
formation of a strategic alliance in 2005 to provide a
comprehensive service portfolio to support the needs of an
expanding agro-supply chain. Initially, the Producer Audited
Supply System (PASS)© was developed and employed by one
multinational seed company in 2005 to support corporate grain
channeling stewardship initiatives in the US. During 2007, PASS©
programs have been implemented that included consultation
services for Midwestern ethanol production facilities.
A second program, Tracking Residues and Contaminants (TRAC)©,
has since been launched by EurofinsUS and ICIA in collaboration
with RQA and Degesch America. This program builds upon the PASS©
concept, but further includes analytical assessments of
pesticide residues to be avoided in supply chains.
During 2007, a pilot TRAC© program was initiated by a
multinational food manufacturer directed toward ingredients
being sourced in Asia. A second TRAC© program was initiated in
the US in an effort to position US soybeans to enter Japanese
food bean markets and meet compliance with the Japan Positive
List System for Regulation of Agricultural Chemical Resides.
EurofinsUS is a full-service bio analytical company that offers
an unrivaled range of analytical capabilities to clients in the
food, feed and grain industries.
The Global Seed Solutions (GSS)© strategic between ICIA and ZEA
Global Seed alliance will be further strengthened due to ICIA’s
previous alliance with EurofinsUS and the capacity to
incorporate EurofinsUS services into client packages.
