Sakata Seed America, Inc. is demonstrating its continued
support of
The
National Watermelon Association, Inc. in a new promotion of
its triploid watermelon variety, Sweet Treasure. For every unit
of Sweet Treasure seed sold through July 2008, Sakata will make
a donation to the National Watermelon Association.
Sweet Treasure, trialed experimentally as SSX 7401, is a round
oval Crimson Sweet triploid watermelon variety that produces
superior quality 16-18 pound fruit. It has a strong and vigorous
vine, smooth dense red flesh and produces excellent yields. This
high quality watermelon is a welcome addition to growers’
watermelon line-up.
Sakata’s watermelon program is very extensive and includes a
wide array of watermelon types for all market regions. Varieties
include diploid Allweet, Crimson Sweet, Charleston Grey,
triploid Jubilee, Green and Dark Green rind types, Yellow Flesh
