Seed Hawk announces new international partner

.

Langbank, Saskatchewan, Canada
October 6, 2006

Seed Hawk Inc is pleased to announce an agreement to sell a minority share in the company to Vaderstad-Verken, an agricultural company based out of Sweden. In addition, a new manufacturing plant is being planned at the existing facility near Langbank, SK to accommodate significant growth.

“This agreement gives us instant access to international markets through a well respected European company,” says Pat Beaujot, President of Seed Hawk. “Vaderstad’s investment in our company and the building of our new facility will benefit both our international customers as well as our domestic market.”

Vaderstad is one of Europe’s leading manufacturers of equipment for soil cultivation and seeding. All of their products are manufactured in Sweden with eight fully owned subsidiaries plus a number of importers that distribute product to 30 markets in Europe and Asia. A new subsidiary is currently being established in the Ukraine.

Vaderstad’s investment in Seed Hawk was motivated by their expansion into Eastern Europe, where dryland farming conditions are similar to Western Canada.

“Vaderstad looked at a lot of seeding equipment and felt that ours was the best product on the market for their expansion into dryland farming,” says Beaujot. “Manufacturers of seeding equipment in Western Canada are the global leaders in direct seeding technology so being chosen by a leading European company like Vaderstad was a huge compliment.”

In addition Seed Hawk can access Vaderstad’s technology for use in machines manufactured for North America.

“One of the technologies that we are looking at incorporating into our metering drive is their variable rate system,” says Beaujot.

Seed Hawk was established in 1992 to develop a drill that seeds, bands and packs in one pass. Seed Hawk has continued to develop their product and is currently working on a new and innovative opener. Seed Hawk strives to develop the most accurate seed and fertilizer placement system to help growers seed more efficiently and profitably.
