Germain's
Technology Group has just completed a significant investment
in its Dutch premises in Aalten. This is part of an ongoing
expansion programme and a commitment to continuous improvement
in all aspects of its operations and product quality. It is a
further demonstration of the confidence and determination
Germain’s has in keeping at the forefront of seed technology
developments now and into the future.
Germain’s operated from two separate units in Aalten and new
development on the main site has enabled all activities to be
united under a much improved logistical and management
structure. The investment, which has doubled the footprint of
the main site, will now enable Germain’s to process all products
more efficiently at a single site, and to successfully manage
the increase in demand for its toll services from customers, as
well as the production of its base materials.
The company APT provided the engineering solutions to the
project. Part of the Aarding
Group, it is recognised as an expert in delivering cost
effective and innovative solutions for the waste to energy, bulk
processing, defence and construction industries.
Wim Heldens, Germain’s General Manager in the Netherlands,
comments: “This was the judicious time to make this commitment
for the future. The new plant addresses the continual attention
to QESH (Quality, Environment, Safety and Health), and the
recently acquired ISO 2001 accreditation of the Dutch business.
The rising demand for complex products and services is also
considered fully by the investment, giving the ability to handle
large volumes of orders in numbers and size, and help us keep
our commitments on reliability, quality, flexibility and value
to our customers”.
Wim further states that “much of this effort is to be accredited
to the dedication of the Aalten team, whose great pride is in
achieving the highest personal and professional goals for the
company and its customers. Germain’s in Aalten is a significant
employer in a small locality, and provides interesting and
rewarding employment for its skilled seasonal and permanent
staff alike”.
Germain’s Technology Group,, part of Associated British Foods
plc, is the leading seed enhancement company, with operational
businesses in Europe and the USA . It provides technology
licenses and toll treatment services to the global seed
industry.
Aarding Group is nationally and internationally active, employs
250 staff. |
